NikolArt
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about original artworks, fine art prints, orders, delivery, returns and artwork care.
Are the original artworks one of a kind?
Yes. Each original artwork is unique and only one original is available.
Once an original has been purchased, it will be marked as Sold and may remain visible in the Sold section of the website.
Prints featuring the same artwork may continue to be available after the original has been sold.
What does “Reserved” mean?
An original artwork may be marked as Reserved while a purchase or delivery arrangement is being completed.
A reservation does not mean that the artwork has been permanently sold. If the purchase is not completed, the artwork may become available again.
Does adding an original artwork to the basket reserve it?
Adding an artwork to the basket does not permanently reserve it.
A temporary reservation may be applied while checkout is being completed, but the artwork is secured only after payment has been successfully completed and the order has been accepted.
Because each original is unique, only the first successfully completed and accepted order can be fulfilled.
Are prints limited edition?
Unless the individual artwork page states otherwise, NikolArt prints are open edition.
This means that they are not restricted to a numbered quantity.
What print sizes are available?
Available print sizes are shown on the relevant artwork page.
The standard sizes may include:
A4;
A3;
A2.
Not every artwork will necessarily be available in every size.
Are prints supplied framed?
No. Unless expressly stated otherwise, prints are supplied unframed.
This allows you to choose a frame that suits your own interior and presentation preferences.
How are prints packaged?
Prints are carefully rolled and shipped in protective postal tubes.
Up to five eligible prints may be packed together in one tube. Where the option is available, you may choose separate tubes for an additional delivery charge.
Original artworks and print tubes are packaged separately.
How are original artworks packaged?
Each original artwork is packed individually using protective materials appropriate to its size, shape, surface and value.
Larger, fragile or high-value artworks may require specialist or insured delivery.
The delivery arrangement for each original is shown on its individual artwork page.
Do you deliver throughout the United Kingdom?
UK delivery is available for products where it is shown on the artwork page or during checkout.
Some original artworks may require an individual delivery quotation because of their dimensions, weight, value or packaging requirements.
Certain remote locations may require additional delivery time or cost.
Do you offer international delivery?
International delivery may be available for selected artworks and prints.
Availability depends on:
the product;
its size and weight;
the destination;
courier and insurance restrictions;
customs requirements.
Where international delivery is not available directly through checkout, contact NikolArt before placing an order.
International customers may be responsible for import VAT, customs duties, clearance fees or other local charges.
Can I collect an original artwork?
Collection may be available for selected original artworks where this is stated on the product page.
Collection must be arranged in advance. The collection location is not published openly and will be provided only after the arrangement has been confirmed.
You may be asked to provide your order confirmation and suitable identification when collecting an artwork.
How long will delivery take?
Estimated production, dispatch and delivery times are shown on the relevant product page or during checkout.
Original artworks and prints may have different timescales and may arrive separately.
Prints may require production time before dispatch.
Delivery dates are estimates unless a specific guaranteed date has been agreed in writing.
Can I request delivery by a particular date?
You may contact NikolArt before ordering to ask whether delivery by a particular date is possible.
A requested date is not guaranteed unless it has been expressly confirmed in writing.
Please allow additional time during busy periods, public holidays and for international deliveries.
How can I pay?
Online payments are processed securely through Stripe Checkout.
The available payment methods will be displayed during checkout and may include eligible debit cards, credit cards or other payment options supported by Stripe.
NikolArt does not receive or store your complete card number or card security code.
Will I receive confirmation of my order?
Yes. You should receive an email acknowledging your order after checkout.
An order acknowledgement confirms that the order has been received. A further confirmation will be sent when the order has been accepted or dispatched, depending on the applicable order process.
Please check your spam or junk folder if the email does not appear in your inbox.
Can I cancel an order?
Where the statutory cancellation right applies, you may normally notify NikolArt that you wish to cancel an online order within 14 days after receiving the goods.
You must then normally return the product within a further 14 days.
Please contact:
cs@nikol-art.com
You may use the Model Cancellation Form at the end of the Terms and Conditions, but you are not required to use it.
Different rules may apply to bespoke or clearly personalised products.
Please read the Terms and Conditions and Shipping, Returns and Refunds pages for full details.
Can I cancel an order before it is dispatched?
Contact NikolArt as soon as possible.
Where the order has not yet been dispatched and no cancellation exception applies, it will normally be possible to cancel it and issue a refund.
If the parcel has already been dispatched, you may need to receive and return it through the normal returns process.
Can I return an artwork or print if I change my mind?
Eligible online purchases may be returned in accordance with the cancellation and returns policy.
Please contact NikolArt before sending anything back. You will be given the correct returns address and any relevant packaging instructions.
For a change-of-mind return, you will normally be responsible for the direct return delivery cost.
Original artworks should be returned using an appropriately tracked and insured service.
Full details are available on the Shipping, Returns and Refunds page.
Does a returned product have to be in its original packaging?
Please reuse the original protective packaging wherever reasonably possible.
Where it is no longer available, the product must be packed to an equivalent protective standard.
Failure to use the original packaging does not automatically remove your cancellation rights. However, you may be responsible for damage or loss in value caused by inadequate packaging or handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect the product.
What should I do if my order arrives damaged?
Please contact NikolArt as soon as reasonably possible at:
cs@nikol-art.com
Include:
your name;
order number;
a description of the damage;
clear photographs of the product;
photographs of the outer and internal packaging.
Please retain all packaging until the issue has been resolved.
Photographs help with the courier investigation, but your statutory rights do not depend on filming the unpacking process.
What happens if my parcel is lost?
Contact NikolArt if the tracking information shows an unusual delay or if the parcel has not arrived within the expected period.
The shipment will be checked with the relevant courier.
Where the parcel is confirmed as lost before delivery, an appropriate solution will be offered. Depending on the product and availability, this may be a replacement or refund.
Because original artworks are unique, replacing a lost original with an identical product may not be possible.
How long does a refund take?
Once a refund has been issued, the time needed for it to appear in your account depends on your bank or payment provider.
Refunds are normally returned to the original payment method.
You will receive confirmation when the refund has been initiated. If it does not appear after the expected processing period, contact your bank or payment provider first and then email NikolArt with your order number.
Can an original artwork be exchanged?
Because each original artwork is unique, it cannot normally be exchanged for an identical replacement.
Where appropriate, you may return an eligible artwork for a refund and place a separate order for another available artwork.
This does not affect your legal rights where an artwork is faulty, damaged before delivery or materially different from its description.
Will the colours look exactly the same as they do on my screen?
NikolArt takes reasonable care to present artwork images accurately, but colours may vary slightly between the website and the physical product.
The appearance of an image can be affected by:
screen brightness;
colour calibration;
device type;
room lighting;
photography and studio lighting.
Original artworks may also contain visible texture, brush marks and handmade surface variations that are difficult to reproduce fully in a photograph.
The physical product must still correspond materially with its description.
Are the artwork dimensions exact?
Dimensions are measured and presented as accurately as reasonably possible.
Small variations may occur because original artworks and handmade products are not industrially manufactured items.
Please review the dimensions shown on the individual artwork page before ordering.
How should I care for an original artwork?
Unless the artwork page provides different instructions:
avoid prolonged direct sunlight;
avoid excessive humidity and moisture;
keep the artwork away from sudden temperature changes;
do not use water, cleaning sprays, solvents or detergents;
remove dust only with a soft, dry and non-abrasive material;
avoid touching painted or printed surfaces unnecessarily;
use suitable fixtures and professional installation assistance where appropriate.
Damage caused by unsuitable storage, cleaning, handling or hanging is not treated as an original product fault.
How should I handle a fine art print?
Handle the print with clean, dry hands and avoid touching the printed surface.
Keep it away from water, direct sunlight and high humidity.
Fine art prints should ideally be framed using suitable archival or conservation-quality materials.
If a rolled print needs time to relax before framing, place it in a clean and dry environment and avoid applying pressure directly to the printed surface.
Is framing available?
Prints are supplied unframed unless otherwise stated.
Framing for original artworks will be described on the individual product page. Where an original is shown with a frame, the description will state whether the frame is included in the sale.
Do you accept commissions?
Commission availability may vary.
You may send an enquiry through the Contact page and include:
the type of artwork requested;
preferred dimensions;
relevant colours or themes;
required completion date;
delivery destination.
Submitting an enquiry does not guarantee that the commission will be accepted.
Any accepted commission will be governed by a separate written quotation or agreement covering the specification, price, deposit, estimated timescale and cancellation arrangements.
Can I reproduce or use an artwork image?
Buying an original artwork or print transfers ownership of the physical item only. It does not transfer copyright in the artwork or image.
Without prior written permission, NikolArt images may not be:
reproduced commercially;
printed or sold as copies;
placed on merchandise;
licensed to another person;
used in advertising;
distributed as digital artwork.
Reasonable private photographs of an artwork you own are permitted for personal use.
